Istanbul is a city that feels like you know it before you do and yet also feels like an exotic place and otherworldly place with the spices of trading routes still lingering in the air. Buildings from a bygone age mixed with contemporary ones and modern features blend and symbolise the psyche of the people and culture. The way the light plays on The Aya Sofia’s different angles and its multi faith use over its intriguing 1400 years intrigues and continues to inspire me and so many others.
